National Current Affairs February 15-28

February 15: Famous singer and Dada Saheb Falke Award winner Bhupane Hajarika had unveiled his own statue at Asom, this is for the first time that an artist had done so.

-India had won 4 medals in the winter olympics held in Idaho.

February 17: Supreme Court had stated that anyone can contend in the general category of elections.

February 18: Forbes magazine had stated that, Ishwarya Rai is the "most richest actress of Bollywood" in its publication "Hollywood".

February 19: Veteran actress Nirmalamma who is famous as the "grandmother of telugu film industry" had passed away.

- Cricketer and former Indian captain Azharuddin had taken the membership in the congress party.

February 20: Anand Sharma, additional minister of external affairs had stated that Sarat Sabharwal had been appointed as the ambassdor of Pakistan and Meera Shankar as the Ambassador for India.

- Martin Luther King-3 and his wife Andria Waters had visited the Gujarat Vidyapeeth university in Ahmedabad.

February 20: UNO had reported that India is on the first place to be affected with the danger of the extinction of languages. America is in the second place.

February 24: Loksabha had accepted the "Money Lendering Amendment Bill-2009".

February 25: A.R.Rehman, Ratan Tata, M.S.Swaminadhan and famous urdu writer Gopichand are to be presented the honorary Doctorates by the Alighad Muslim University.

February 26: 14th Loksabha meetings had came to an end. In the period of five days 258 new laws had been made and 332 meetings are held.

- Four time world champion Marycome of Manipur had been appointed as the brand ambassador of the "International Boxing Academy".

- Punjab D.G.P N.P.S.Aulakh has been appointed as the new director of the NSG(National Security Guards).
